Ellee Seymour of ProActive PR is shortlisted for a prestigious PR award

Ellee Seymour of ProActive PR has been shortlisted for a prestigious PR award. She is a finalist for Best Freelance Practitioner in East Anglia in the CIPR PRideAwards 2012, and the result will be announced on Thursday, 11 October.

Ellee’s submission was entitled, 'From Journalism to PR', and highlighted some of her recent successful work with clients, including Sepsis UK, Abcodia and Adoption with Humanity, as well as her work as the Conservative Eastern Region Press Officer during the 2009 Euro Election. Ellee is a former journalist with the Cambridge News and a published ghost writer.

Ellee, who is based near Ely and holds the CIPR Diploma in Public Relations, said she was delighted to have been shortlisted for the award.

She said: “I really feel for journalists around the UK who are currently losing their jobs following the closure of newspapers and I believe their skills are a tremendous asset if, like me, they want to work in public relations.

“I am always naturally curious about people and their work and use this curiosity to develop strategic and creative public relations campaigns, and enjoy working with dedicated professionals from many different backgrounds to raise their profile or cause.”

The CIPR PRide Awards is the only UK-wide awards scheme that recognises excellence in public relations and communications work across Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the English regions. Now in its ninth year, the CIPR PRide Awards grow year-on-year as consultancies and organisations increasingly recognise the benefits of industry awards.

The CIPR is the professional body for public relations practitioners in the UK. With 9,000 members involved in all aspects of public relations, it is the largest body of its type in Europe. The CIPR advances the public relations profession in the UK by making its members accountable through a code of conduct, developing policies, representing its members and raising standards through education and training.
