Endomag technology shortlisted for ‘Best Medical Technology’ award

Technology for breast cancer care from Cambridge-based Endomag has been recognised by an international award programme.

Endomag's Sentimag® platform and Magtrace® lymphatic tracer have been shortlisted for the prestigious Prix Galien 'Best Medical Technology' Award 2020 - among a list of 18 incredible life-changing technologies.

Previous winners of the award include Stryker, Medtronic and Abbott, so Endomag is honoured to see its efforts recognised beside such prestigious names.

Sue Desmond-Hellmann, Chair of the Prix Galien USA and Prix Galien International Committees, remarked: “As we celebrate 50 years of the Prix Galien process, we are honored to announce this year’s Prix Galien USA nominees, which represent the determination and passion for change that serves as the driving force of life-changing innovation.

"The Awards Committee applauds the nominees for their commitment to ensure a healthier future for generations to come.”

The company says: "We’re incredibly proud of the time, effort and ambition the team at Endomag has put in to get us to where we are today.

"This is just the beginning and we’re extremely excited about what the future holds for both our technologies and breast cancer patients being able to access the best standards of care."

Award winners will be announced on October 29, 2020.

About Endomag

Endomag is a global technology company that believes everyone deserves a better standard of cancer care. Many of the world’s leading physicians and hospitals use the company’s technologies to help women with breast cancer avoid surgery whenit isn’t needed, and experience better outcomes when it is.

Originally founded in 2007 by professors at University College London (UCL) and the University of Houston, Endomag harnesses the power of magnetics to enable a better standard of cancer care. The heart of the company’s product platform is the Sentimag® localisation system. The Sentimag® system features a probe which works like a metal detector, and when placed near the skin’s surface is used to detect Endomag’s magnetic seed (Magseed®) or liquidtracer (Magtrace®), for tissue localisation and sentinel node biopsy procedures.

Endomag is a global company headquartered in Cambridge, UK, with an office in Austin, Texas.

To date, the company has helped tens of thousands of women around the world access more precise and less invasive breast cancer care.
