Introduction to Negotiation on 25 April is a programme designed for anyone involved in everyday negotiations – it will help you understand what you can do to be more effective and achieve an even better result where small ‘wins’ can have a big impact on the bottom line.
Negotiation is not always about buying and selling. It is often about exchanging time, priorities, resources and deliverables to help things run smoothly. At work and home we negotiate lots of things daily and for the most part we do it well. But there are times when we feel we could have done better or have missed a ‘trick’.
You will learn about :
- The underpinning principles so you know when you are in a situation where negotiation is possible
- The steps involved and how to prepare for each stage
- Some useful techniques to help you trade ‘concessions’ and create a win/win outcome
- What you can do when the other side ‘plays games’
- Techniques which you can practise in a number of scenarios and a real world situation of your choosing

Project Management and Leadership next month (14-15 May) is a two-day workshop aimed at managers who lead teams and projects, but who already have some basic knowledge and understanding of the processes.
The content assumes that you will have some experience of project working and that you are responsible for running at least one project. The focus is on the leadership aspects of project working, while still covering tools and techniques.
The workshop will:
- Introduce you to the skills, tools and challenges of leading a successful project
- Provide you with an opportunity to practise leadership skills and tools
- Enable you to identify personal learning and prepare a personal development plan
