In recent months Egypt’s government has introduced new trade and customs decrees that directly affect the export and trade documentation process for UK companies.

Working in partnership with the Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce, this event will provide an in-depth explanation of the new decrees as well as the new bank-to-bank document handling procedures provided by the Central Bank of Egypt and how you can comply with the recently introduced amendments to Egypt’s laws. Iman El Sherif, Secretary-General of the Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce, will outline these export regulations and how they affect UK importers.

Delegates will also receive an introduction to the current political climate and its effect on the business environment plus gain an insight into some of the new trade opportunities that are developing in the region.

In September, Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce processed documents relating to £8.1 million worth of exports to Egypt. It’s a growing market that consistently features in the top three countries being served by Cambridgeshire exporters who will be affected by the changes.

John Bridge OBE DL, Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce, said:
“Egypt is a vibrant economy and export documents processed in September saw Egypt come second in our top 20 country list. We would encourage all companies trading with Egypt to attend this event and make themselves aware of the trade regulation changes to prevent any delays with their export shipments.”

This event is being organised by the Chambers’ International Sector in partnership with the Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce.
