So for the last three weeks I’ve been spending my Fridays out of the office on a First Aid at Work training course. You’d think working for a life sciences marketing agency there isn’t much that could happen to you (a nasty papercut for one of our technical writers perhaps?) but those staplers, scissors and kitchen knives have never looked more dangerous now!
I might be a scientist (in an office full of scientists!), but my background in marine biology won’t really be much use in dealing with a scald or a cut. Nevertheless, should something ever happen, I’m now ready with my trusty bandages and sling to come to the aid of my colleagues.
But always remember – never put a compression bandage on a neck wound!
