Former intern secures permanent job with Conference Cambridge

A previous Summer intern studying event management and looking for hands-on experience has secured a permanent role to help progress her career in destination marketing.

 

Leah Gibson has been appointed Event Executive at Conference Cambridge, the official venue-finding service for the University of Cambridge, the Colleges, hotels and other unique properties in the city.

In her role, Leah is responsible for taking and progressing general day-to-day enquiries from organisations looking to hold events in Cambridge and helping to promote Conference Cambridge’s prestigious portfolio of 52 venues.

Leah, who recently graduated with a BA (Hons) in Event Management from the University of Bedfordshire, says: “My internship last year gave me some very useful experience including an insight into the events industry, seeing at first-hand the processes that are involved in taking an initial enquiry and following it through to the event itself and having the opportunity to network with others in the industry.

“I am really enjoying being back as part of the team and learning more about our venues and what Cambridge can offer as an event destination, including the history of the Colleges and the wide range of activities in and around the city.”
