Founders of CD Baby, Dressipi, and Mixcloud speak in Cambridge at BoS Europe Conference

Derek Sivers, Sarah McVittie, and Mat Clayton are among those speaking to 250 software entrepreneurs at the Business of Software Conference Europe in Cambridge this April.

On 11-12 April at Churchill College Cambridge, 250 software entrepreneurs will gather to learn how to scale their businesses while listening to experienced entrepreneurs who have been there and done it.

Founded by Neil Davidson, co-founder of Cambridge-based success story Redgate, Business of Software Conference has been running for 13 years with one mission in mind - to help software entrepreneurs to create successful, sustainable companies that people love to work for and that make products their customers love.

Business of Software Conference Europe is returning to its home town of Cambridge this April after 3 years in other European cities. Bursting with companies at the very forefront of technology, Cambridge is the natural home for Europe's premier conference for software scale-ups.

Speakers at Business of Software Conferences are always an impressive group, and this year is no different.

Derek Sivers founded CD Baby in 1997 and bootstrapped it over 11 years until he sold the company in 2008 for $22 million. He'll be speaking about the state of tech in 2019. There’s no doubt that software is changing the world. Derek will offer some perspectives on what the software industry can do to end up on the right side of history and make the world a better place.

Sarah McVittie is the co-founder and CEO of Dressipi, who with limited funding built a business that offers shoppers access to their own digital stylist. Dressipi services over 20% of the UK womenswear market including retailers like Topshop, John Lewis and Very. Sarah will discuss the data-driven growth of Dressipi's business, and the importance of harnessing culture as your company grows.

Mat Clayton is the Cambridge-based CTO and co-founder of Mixcloud, an online music streaming service for the listening and distribution of user-sourced radio shows, DJ mixes and podcasts. In 10 years, Mixcloud bootstrapped its way to 15 million monthly active users with a team of just 5 employees. Then last year, they took $11.5 million in funding from a little-known investor. Mat will be talking about growing a bootstrapped business, and why Mixcloud decided to take funding at this point.

Business of Software Conference takes place on 11-12 April at Churchill College, Cambridge.
