GIS adds support for Toshiba TEC CF3 printheads on latest ethernet platform

Global Inkjet Systems (GIS), the leading strategic partner for OEMs and system builders, further expands its product portfolio to include flexible drive electronics for the Toshiba TEC CF3 industrial inkjet printhead.

GIS offers proven high performance and flexible datapath and software solutions, supporting a wide range of printheads from major manufacturers to deliver world class productivity, print quality and system reliability. Support for the Toshiba TEC CF3 is achieved through a new GIS Head Management Board, the HMB-DG, based on the latest GIS Ethernet platform.  A new Digital Head Board (DHB), the DHB-TT-CF3, connects to adapt the HMB-DG signals to drive each Toshiba TEC CF3 printhead to its fullest potential.

The new GIS HMB-DG / DHB-TT-CF3, with their flexible and compact design, can drive up to  4 x Toshiba TEC CF3 printheads.  Integrated encoder and product detect management are also available with the option of the SEB-EPD expansion module for single board solutions. The HMB includes print data management, waveform control and printhead diagnostics, all accessed over Ethernet. The GIS datapath hardware is complemented by  proven Atlas® software adding RIP, VDP and other functions and capabilities to the Toshiba TEC CF3 solution to achieve the high-quality, high-speed printing requirements for today’s marketplace.

With 600 nozzles per inch (npi), the Toshiba TEC CF3 recirculating greyscale printhead is designed for a wide range of industrial applications. The printhead supports oil-based and UV curable inks and offers high quality greyscale (6 level) printing with sub-drop size 3-4pl.  This is a dual colour capable printhead with 600npi for one colour or 300npi for two colours and high productivity and reliability achieved by its through-channel ink recirculation system.

“The new Head Management Board for the Toshiba TEC CF3 printhead demonstrates the latest flexibility and capability of the GIS Ethernet platform, strengthening the choice of printhead support for our customers across a wide range of applications,” said Nick Geddes, CEO.

This addition to its product portfolio boosts the position of GIS as a leading supplier of integrated inkjet solutions worldwide.
