Global law firm Goodwin announces that Thiha Tun will join the firm’s Private Investment Funds practice as a partner, resident in the London office.
“Despite the fluctuating economic activity over the past couple of years, the secondaries market has remained robust with an uptick in traditional portfolio sales, structured secondaries, continuation funds and GP-led transactions,” said Michael Halford, co-chair of Goodwin’s Private Investment Funds practice. “At Goodwin, we are committed to adding top notch talent to our platform in this exciting growth sector, and Thiha certainly fits into that category. We are thrilled that he will be joining the firm.”
Thiha advises alternative asset fund sponsors, institutional investors and financial advisors on a broad range of issues, including fund formation and capital raisings, fund investments, GP and LP-led private equity, private debt and real estate secondary transactions, establishment of managed accounts, carried interest schemes and co-investment arrangements as well as fund organizations and reconstructions. Thiha has represented fund managers as well as major investors on the organization of funds, club deals, and customized investment solutions in private equity, real estate, infrastructure, cleantech, and hedge asset classes. He is regularly involved in financial services M&A, including asset manager acquisitions and joint ventures as well as portfolio company investments and financings.
Thiha is the fourth partner to join Goodwin’s expansive private investment funds practice in 2024, following the hires of Virginie Leroy in Luxembourg, Alicja Biskupska-Haas in New York and John Anderson in London.
