Name: Daniel Sawyer
Role: Design Engineer/Project Co-ordinator
So… what’s your name and what do you do at the Guardtech Group?
“My name is Daniel Sawyer and my role at Guardtech is Design Engineer / Project Co-ordinator.”
And what does that role involve?
“My role as a Design Engineer involves designing all aspects of cleanroom projects using both 2D & 3D computer-aided design software, site surveying using 3D Lidar scanners and communicating with our clients to ensure we achieve the cleanroom which best suits them whilst following all industry requirements. I’m also currently learning the ropes of project management to assist in the delivery of some of our smaller modular (Isopod) and mobile cleanroom (CleanCube) products.”
How long have you been at Guardtech?
“I’ve been at Guardtech for two-and-a-half years – but I studied construction prior to joining, so I feel like I’ve been involved in the industry for some time now.”
Love that! So, what is it that you like about working at Guardtech?
“The main thing I like about working at Guardtech is the opportunities and support for continuous personal development.”
What sort of stuff do you like doing outside of work?
“I enjoy playing and watching football – Come On You Spurs! This leads to some heated discussions in the office!”
If you had to pair up with one person in the office who would it be – and why?
“I would choose Michael Burton, as he has been in the industry for many years and has all the knowledge required from an installation perspective to assist me in ensuring our design packs are to the highest standard possible.”
Sounds like a top guy! What has been your favourite project to work on then?
“My favourite project to work on has been Elis Cleanrooms, as this was the first large-scale Cleanroom Polutions project that I had complete ownership of and have been one of the lead Design Engineers on.”
