Guardtech Group take centre stage with Hello, Dolly! theatre show sponsorship

Suffolk-based cleanroom construction company continue support for charities and groups at home and abroad with Irving Stage Company backing.

Hello, Dolly! by the Irving Stage Company

THE GUARDTECH GROUP are taking a step out of their cleanroom comfort zone and onto the boards of the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds by sponsoring a classic Broadway production.

The Haverhill construction firm are sponsoring the Irving Stage Company’s take on Hello, Dolly! – the 1964 musical romantic comedy which follows the chaotic events of irrepressible socialite-turned-matchmaker Dolly Gallagher Levi.

Set in New York in 1890, Dolly has been hired to arrange a marriage, yet with an eye on her own love life, she engineers the romances of a whole cast of characters.

With a score of Broadway favourites including Before The Parade Passes By, Put On Your Sunday Clothes, It Only Takes A Moment and Hello, Dolly!, this production is not to be missed – with nightly shows at 7.30pm from 8-12 November and a Saturday matinee at 2pm.

Guardtech Group Commercial Director Mark Wheeler, who has a history in theatre production, is delighted to support a local business in a sphere that’s close to his heart. “I’ve got a long-running association with theatre and the arts generally, so I was really happy to support the Irving Stage Company with this show, it’s a brilliant production of a Broadway classic – and I know a lot of people love the film version starring Barbara Streisand, so I’m sure this will prove to be an immensely popular show.”

The Guardtech Group are a cleanroom construction company based in Suffolk made up of five businesses which provide a wide range of controlled environment products and services – Guardtech Cleanrooms, Cleanroom Solutions, Isoblok Pre-Fab Cleanrooms, Isopod Rapid Cleanrooms and CleanCube Mobile Cleanrooms.

Among their recent philanthropic activities, Guardtech supported a friend of the family business suffering with MS with funding for treatment earlier this year, while they also donated a £50,000 CleanCube portable van laboratory for the Ugandan government to allow them to conduct vital PRC testing to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

And Mr Wheeler suggested the company will continue to do more to support local groups and charitable causes in the future as the business continues to grow.

“This year has seen our business grow exponentially,” he continued, “with our modular builds, CleanCube Mobile Cleanrooms and rapid-assembly Isopods proving particularly popular, alongside our major turnkey construction projects.

“So we are making a commitment to support groups like Irving, who bring joy and entertainment to so many people in tough times, as much as we can in the coming years.

“We’re a family business and we recognise that we have a responsibility to contribute to the local area with meaningful support wherever we think it is most appropriate.”
