Headway Cambridgeshire writes:
We have now been at our ‘new’ home in Ida Darwin for just over a year. The clients have made big plans for the garden and we have made significant progress. In February 2014 we host a Horticulture Community Day and are joined by friends and supporters from the community and local business. In addition to digging, weeding, landscaping, planting and generally getting the garden sorted out for spring, we are also preparing for a very special new horticulture project the clients are looking forward to.
Headway Cambridgeshire’s clients will soon be keeping chickens!
We have a chicken coop that has been kindly made and donated to Headway Cambridgeshire. We now also have a wheelchair accessible pathway to the site of the chicken coop. and finally we have a chicken run, made for us and delivered by Cambridge Wood Works. February 14, Valentine’s Day, saw the chicken run delivered and assembled by supporters and volunteers from the local community and businesses. Headway Cambridgeshire is feeling very loved today.
Donate a plant
But we still need more help. We still need donations of plants from our ‘wish-list’ of plants. We’re asking for donations of plants. If you feel you can buy us a plant from our wish list and donate it to us, then that would be wonderful. But we know that not everyone can do that, so we are also asking for economical donations such as seedlings, cuttings, left-over plants or those you have spare from thinning out your garden beds. You may even see a ‘two-for-one’ offer at your local garden centre – remember us if you do! Please have a look at our wish-list and see if you can donate us a plant we need.
