Leading regional property investor and developer Howard Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Jon Green to the role of Director – Unity Campus.

Jon is an exceptionally experienced site leader with extensive strategic business operations and scientific experience within the commercial life sciences arena. Well-known and respected, particularly within the Cambridge life science community, Jon is currently COO at Iontas Ltd, a leading contract research organisation. Prior to this Jon spent 18 years as VP, Site General Manager at MedImmune Ltd (formerly Cambridge Antibody Technology). He is also the current Chair of One Nucleus, the not-for-profit life sciences and healthcare membership organisation headquartered in Cambridge.

Located eight miles south of Cambridge, Howard Group’s 11-acre Unity Campus is an exciting new urban innovation district. Already home to 13 leading life science and technology companies, it is undergoing a major expansion, with the first two of three new laboratory buildings due for completion this summer – with the third following in November this year. This next tranche of newly constructed wet laboratory buildings at Unity Campus will release an additional 87,000 sq ft to the market to help alleviate existing demand for life sciences R&D space within the Cambridge cluster. Interest across all three buildings is incredibly strong, with building A2 now under offer.

Nicholas Bewes, CEO, Howard Group commented: “In early 2022 we were joined by Jeanette Walker, as our Interim Director, to help us define and shape the strategic direction of Unity Campus. Jeanette’s work has given us a strong foundation and basis from which to further evolve the Campus as we reach the final stages of construction on our phase 2 buildings. I would like to extend our sincere thanks to Jeanette for her guidance and support, which stands us in very good stead as we progress the Campus masterplan.

“Jeanette now hands the baton over to Jon Green, who I am delighted to welcome to the Howard Group team. Jon’s exceptional experience in facilitating and managing large scale projects and his understanding of the specific requirements of both life science R&D laboratory buildings and their occupiers will help us successfully navigate the onboarding of our phase 2 buildings. In addition, his experienced hand will enable us to implement and further develop our vision for the Campus. The team is thrilled by Jon’s appointment and we very much look forward to officially welcoming him in June.”

Jon Green added: “I am delighted to be joining Howard Group as Director of Unity Campus. It is truly exciting to be joining at such a key stage in the development of this burgeoning scientific community in Pampisford, which will be a significant addition to the life sciences cluster surrounding Cambridge. I am looking forward to working within such a forward thinking organisation with a clear commitment to science, the community and the wider environment.”

Unity Campus is a vibrant, exciting community of future-focused life science and tech companies attracted by the purposefully designed spaces which facilitate business interactions and friendships, encouraging innovation, collaboration and ideas exchange. By merging the traditional and modern, urban and rural, business and social, Unity Campus offers an entirely different working environment to other science and research parks in the Cambridge area, creating a wider choice of location for technology and life science companies seeking laboratories or offices.
