The awards ceremony took place on 1st December 2015 at Hilton Park Lane in London and recognises the highest standards in governance disclosure, rewarding individuals and organisations for their achievements.
For the fourth time Johnson Matthey scooped the top spot for Best Sustainability Disclosure from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) for its sustainability reporting in its Annual Report.
Johnson Matthey also won the Best Audit and Risk Disclosure category for the first time, managing to beat off tough competition including Marks & Spencer, GKN and National Grid.
The ICSA is a much respected authority in the UK on corporate governance and compliance. The awards are judged by an independent panel of judges, all highly experienced in company secretarial and governance fields, spanning private and not-for-profit sectors.
Johnson Matthey sees sustainability and financial reporting as two linked elements of a successful business
Johnson Matthey has remained ahead of the game in reporting and since 2012 has integrated its financial and sustainability reports into one document, showing how it measures performance not only according to profitability but also by sustainability factors.
At Johnson Matthey reporting is viewed as far more than a statutory duty. The company sees it as an opportunity to demonstrate how sustainability and financial reporting are two linked elements of a successful business that contributes both to the economy and to society.
