Imagine Cambridge in 2065: latest from the Network's CEO

"I had been asked to write a thought piece for the Walport Review on Future Cities for 2065 - and as I was watching The Apprentice final at the time, decided it might be more civilised than portrayed on TV!"  
 
Claire’s thought-provoking piece has led to her being asked to talk at a special panel discussion** in Cambridge tomorrow (Wednesday) alongside Sir Mark Walport, UK Government Chief Scientific Advisor; Professor Frank Kelly, Master, Christ’s College; Professor Sir Alan Wilson, Professor of Urban and Regional Systems in the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, UCL; and Bronwen Maddox, Editor, Prospect (Chair).  

The event seems to be sold out but Claire is interested in the opinions of Network members: "Cambridge Network is often used as a sounding board for people seeking 'the views of business in Cambridgeshire'.  

"We collect views that we pick up from our frequent discussions with members, but please do let us know if you have views you think should be put into the mix – we try to take account of our extensive body of SME members and start-ups as well as the largest companies and organisations."

**The Future of Cities programme is a partnership between the Government Office for Science and Prospect Magazine to engage on what the UK’s cities need for future growth. It will look at the capital and social infrastructure requirements of our cities and include focus on the partnerships needed to bring them to fruition. It will consider the changing nature of our demographics and population size and what makes a city successful.
