This special session - held online via Zoom on Wednesday 3rd November 9.30-10.30am - will be open to all in recognition of International Men’s Day.

The UK is set to host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow on 1 – 12 November 2021 to demonstrate the urgency and the opportunities of the journey towards a zero-carbon economy and the power of international cooperation to address the gravest challenges the world faces.

The Network will be joined by Prof Dr Marie-Claire Cordonier Segger, an award-winning executive, expert jurist and professor in international policy, law and partnerships on sustainable development. Marie-Claire currently serves as Leverhulme Trust Visiting Professor at the University of Cambridge, Executive Secretary of the global Climate Law and Governance Initiative (CLGI), and Senior Director of the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law (CISDL).

Attendees will also have the chance to listen to Dr Nicky Dee, co-founder and Chief Sustainability and Innovation Officer at Carbon 13. Nicky is currently a fellow with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and holds a PhD in environmental technology management from the University of Cambridge.

Shima Barakat, Co-Founder of Impact Women’s Network, said: “For this event we are thrilled to be collaborating with NatWest as our members hear from some esteemed speakers. The subject of climate change is a hugely important one and plays a major role in shaping the world we live in. Attendees will have the chance to discuss and develop ideas in roundtables on what we can do as individuals, and collectively, to deal with these real-world challenges”.

“As with all our ImpactWN sessions, this is for everyone who wants to make a difference. We look forward to meeting up with our members and welcoming male attendees too.”
