Cambridge based Indian food delivery and catering company Inder’s Kitchen has been selected as one of the three finalists in the Best Street food / Takeaway category of this year’s BBC Food and Farming Awards.

Cambridge based Indian food delivery and catering company Inder’s Kitchen has been selected as one of the 3 finalists in the Best Street food / Takeaway category of this year’s BBC Food and Farming Awards.

Nominated by customers and selected by a panel of 12 judges, led by top chef and TV presenter Angela Hartnett, the three finalists were chosen from hundreds of nominated businesses from across the UK, offering cuisine from all over the world, including everything from fish and chips, to Thai street food, amazing handmade burgers and Indian curries.

Inder Bull, founder of Inder’s Kitchen says “first and foremost, it is our customers who nominated us for this award so I’m ever so grateful to them for all of their support. It’s a real honour for us to have achieved such recognition from some of the country’s leading chefs and food experts, and it’s a fantastic reward for 2 years of incredibly hard work.”

“The Best Street food / Takeaway category is one of the fastest moving and most popular categories, reflecting the growth in the number of new and innovative food businesses in this sector.“

“I want to continue to build this business with an ethos of delivering true Indian home cooking prepared using fresh locally sourced seasonal produce. What we offer is different from the more traditional tandoori restaurants and takeaways. We keep our menu to a size that enables us to cook dishes individually, as opposed to a one-sauce-fits-all approach, and our seasonal menu and bi-weekly specials provide our customers with new and exciting dishes to try throughout the year.”

The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Good Food Show at Birmingham’s NEC on November 282012.
