Expanding capabilities through acquisitions
In response to growing demand for its strategy, digital and innovations skills, PA strengthened its team in 2018 with three acquisitions and a new digital hub.
PA welcomed Boston-based Essential Design, an innovation strategy and product design business. Essential are experts in user-centred design, customer experience and getting innovation to market. This acquisition will help PA clients transform how they bring new products and experiences to market.

Bringing ingenuity to life in our communities
PA is passionate about giving people the chance to ignite a passion for ingenuity. In 2018, this included interns on the threshold of careers, enjoying real technology challenges at PA’s Global Innovation and Technology Centre, and sixth-formers from disadvantaged backgrounds learning important leadership skills as part of PA’s Springboard initiative. Schoolchildren also discovered the thrill of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in PA’s ever-popular national Raspberry Pi competition.
