Inside story of the Cambridge Phenomenon - book launches next week

Next week will see the launch of The Cambridge Phenomenon 50 Years of Innovation and Enterprise by Kate Kirk and Charles Cotton. The book is a multi-dimensional portrait of one of the world's most enterprising clusters of technology companies and features a Foreword by Bill Gates. The ongoing Cambridge Phenomenon remains the subject of business, economic, political and academic interest.

The book tells the inside story of the companies that have made the Phenomenon what it is today, and the remarkable people behind them. Richly illustrated with photographs, cameos and anecdotes, it showcases not only the companies, but also the game-changing events that have led to dramatic growth and world-beating technologies and products.

From computers to video games, from radio to wireless technologies, and from test tubes to block-buster drugs, the sheer variety of what goes on in Cambridge makes the cluster unique.

To mark the launch, Cambridge Network members are asked to help raise Cambridge’s profile on the day of the launch – Tuesday 8th May – for example, tweet using the hash tag  #cambphenomenon, or post a personal message on your website and in the Cambridge Network LinkedIn group.
