Over 40 representatives from regional businesses and organisations attended the informal evening which comprised a sampling of canapés and drinks, in addition to private showrounds by members of the Conference Team.
Guests were taken to see some of the College’s flagship facilities including the Howard Theatre with its sustainable credentials, the classical-style Hall, the Assembly Room and the hotel-standard en suite bedrooms.
Jacqui Cressey, Conference Services Manager at Downing said: “We were delighted that more than 40 guests came along to our Introduction Event, all looking for new places to hold their conferences, meetings and dinners.
“We received excellent feedback on our facilities and visitors were genuinely impressed with the unique spaces we have on offer, as well as our attractive and tranquil setting in 20-acre grounds within the city centre. They were also very complimentary about our award-winning food, created by the catering team here.
“Our second Gold Award from the Green Tourism is an added benefit to those event organisers who need to meet CSR objectives.”
