Cambridge, 15 August 2023 - IQGeo (AIM: IQG), a developer of geospatial software that is “Building better networks” for telecom and utility operators, today announced that in the last 30 days it has secured contracts with two large North American utility operators. The contracts are with an American gas network provider and a Canadian regional electric grid transmission and distribution operator. Both of these new customers will deploy IQGeo’s Inspection & Survey software which will be used by hundreds of field engineers to monitor, manage, and document the field survey and inspection process that ensures network uptime and safety.
The inspection of gas networks and electric grid transmission and distribution lines is critical to the resilience and safety of these networks and must be fully documented to meet regulatory requirements. Using traditional manual and map-based processes is costly, time consuming, and error prone. The IQGeo mobile platform will help these operators “take their networks to the field” on light weight tablets used by retained staff and 3rd party contractors. IQGeo’s digital workflows give field engineers the structure they need to fully execute survey and inspection processes, automatically document field variances, and track task completion. IQGeo’s innovative mobile software allows these crews to easily perform their work orders online and offline, when working in remote areas without cellular reception. The IQGeo software will accelerate work execution, improve network data quality, and streamline regulatory reporting obligations.
Adrian McNulty, Vice President of Utility Solutions at IQGeo, said: “These two new customer wins are a great example of our market share growth success in the utility industry. IQGeo’s field mobility software has always been an industry leader and this is a great place for these new customers to begin their digital transformation journey. I’m confident that they will quickly realize significant business, network, and safety benefits with digital field maintenance and inspection processes, and we look forward to expanding the use of the IQGeo software into other operational areas over time.”
