Arthur Rank Hospice Charity are excited to announce that their annual Festive Run is now open for registrations!
Runners, fancy-dress lovers and teams of families and friends are invited to limber up, pull on their best Christmas-themed fancy dress and run, jog or walk a 2.5 or 5km route around Hinchingbrooke Country Park on Sunday 27 November.
The event, sponsored by Price Bailey, returns in-person for the first time since 2019. In 2020 and 2021 over 800 people all over the county, and further afield, took part in remote events, bravely donning Santa hats and running their own routes, solo, around their towns and villages, raising over £45,000 for the hospice charity.
Back with a festive bang, the event isn’t just about the running – there’ll be the chance to meet Santa, be dazzled by magic and balloon displays, step into a snow globe and enjoy festive music, food and much more, all while raising funds which help local people receive the care and support they need to live with progressive illnesses.
Angeline Liles, Events Officer at the Charity, said:
“We’re so excited to be able to welcome supporters back to an in-person event this year! There’s a brilliant route at Hinchingbrooke Country Park and we have lots of festive treats in store for all ages. We can’t wait to see friends, families and teams dressed up in their festive best!”
“It just goes to show the power of community: a few hundred people sign up to be part of the Festive Run and tell their friends and families about it. That results in thousands of pounds being raised for the Hospice, meaning that every Festive Runner makes a real difference.”
While festive fancy dress is not obligatory, there will be some extra motivation to get creative with the tinsel and glitter, as the Charity will be awarding prizes for best adult, child and group fancy dress.
Places are limited and, with only just over a month to go, sign up today to secure your place: £15 for adults and £10 for children (aged 10-15). Under 10’s join in for free. Keen Festive Runners (and walkers!) can sign up at arhc.org.uk/festiverun.
