Get together with friends, family, colleagues and fellow students and join Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) for the 3km and 5km fun run, which takes place around the grounds of Addenbrooke’s Hospital. The event is open to all including runners, joggers, walkers and those with pushchairs.
Money raised will help support patients throughout Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie or it can be allocated to a ward, clinic or department that holds a special meaning.
Additional entertainment on the day will include live music, face painting, a Chitty Chitty Bang Bang-style vintage car, craft stalls, refreshments and ACT’s mascots Rosie Rabbit and Brooke Bear cheering everyone on.
In 2013 over 100 people supported the event including children, parents, patients and staff, many of whom were wearing fancy dress from panda outfits to matching tutus.
Lauren Giddings, took part last year with her husband, Paul and son, Evan (then three), and raised money towards a new children’s heart scanner. She said: “We had a brilliant time at the Rudolph Run. It was really well organised and supported. We are so grateful for the wonderful care Evan received at birth for his heart condition, and the care he continues to receive as an outpatient. ACT is such a great charity, and we are so happy to help raise money.”
Mercy Kaggwa, ACT’s Community Fundraising Assistant, said: “It was a fantastic day that included face painting, a tombola and music. We were delighted that over £7,000 was raised from a variety of special causes across Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie. We hope this year’s event will be even bigger and better. Please join us!”
