‘Keep It In Cambridge’ marketing campaign wins Silver Award

The team at Conference Cambridge is celebrating winning a Silver Award at the prestigious Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA) 2014.

The official venue finding service for the University of Cambridge, the Colleges and other unique properties was recognised in the ‘Best Integrated Marketing Campaign’ category for its recent Keep It In Cambridge campaign.

Created to encourage event organisers to ‘stay local’ and use venues on their doorstep, reducing travel and meeting sustainability objectives, the integrated Campaign carried a slogan of ‘It’s your City – why would you go anywhere else?’

A number of complementary marketing channels were used including teaser emails, direct mail, social media, web activity and face-to-face meetings with branded gifts, as well as PR and advertising.

Kelly Vickers, Manager at Conference Cambridge said: “We are delighted to have won a Silver in these prestigious and competitive awards for our Keep It In Cambridge campaign. It is a great tribute to the members of our team who worked so hard to ensure that local companies are aware of what’s on offer on their doorstep when it comes to choosing venues for events. As the winners of previous MIMA Awards – in 2005 for Best Website and in 2008 for Best Use of Budget – this makes our third MIMA success.”

The annual MIMA awards were launched in 2002 to raise the standards of marketing in the meetings and events industry and are organised by Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine. Winners were announced at the 13th presentation banquet dinner which took place on 20th October 2014 at the Lancaster, London.
