The annual contest aims to give young people a fairer image in the media and society by ‘revealing, recognising and rewarding’ young people and setting them up as positive role models.
YOPEY is supported by sponsors from the public and private sectors and has been endorsed by Prime Minister David Cameron, Leader of the Labour Party Ed Miliband and many business leaders.
Entries for the award come from all backgrounds and organisations, from schools, youth organisations and charities. The award reflects positive activities that young people are involved in including projects home and abroad as well as caring for others.
Linx Printing Technologies marketing director Dr. Paul Doody says: “We are delighted to be able to support the Cambridgeshire division of YOPEY. It is such a worthwhile scheme that reflects the positive attributes of young people. They are our tomorrow and it is essential that as a society we recognise the big contribution that many young people make to communities.”
Linx is an internationally-renowned supplier of continuous ink jet, laser marking, case coding and thermal transfer printers. The company has helped organisations across the world increase their productivity while significantly reducing total cost of ownership.
