A sustainable new heart for Lucy Cavendish College in Cambridge, the project provides student rooms and social spaces to help provide higher education for the wider community.
Judges noted that this project faced a number of complex challenges which were addressed head-on to deliver the project on time. Judges stated Bidwells achieved an exemplary template for how to plan for diversity and inclusion.
Lindsey Richards, Vice President of the RTPI, said: “This was a fantastic celebration of our RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence winners. We had a record number of entries this year from across our nations and regions as well as internationally and it was a privilege to see the continuing positive contribution that planners deliver for society. Our profession is thriving and innovating to find ways to do even more for the communities nationally and internationally.”
Now in its 46th year, the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Awards for Planning Excellence showcase and celebrate the best plans, people and projects.
