Make your membership work for you in 2013

Cambridge Network has instigated a raft of changes to enhance its offering during the past year, all aimed at bringing people together, collaborating for shared success and raising Cambridge's game.

“We’d like your feedback to help improve our services again,” says Claire Ruskin CEO.  “Tell us what we can help you with in 2013; we’ve done something right in 2012 and membership has been growing, with members getting more engaged and helping Cambridge businesses stay at the leading edge.”

Responding to member feedback and determined to offer services that bring real benefits to members and their businesses, during 2012 Cambridge Network has:

  • Launched this integrated website, with our member services available in one place;
  • Added new services such as the extremely popular jobs board Recruitment Gateway , which now has 265 employers using it – we believe that Cambridge companies have hired nearly 6,0001 people in 2012, many of them helped by Cambridge Network;
  • Established peer groups for Experienced Managers, Strategic Managers, PAs/EAs, Marketing & Communications, Technology & Innovation Leaders and several others;
  • Introduced new types of events, such as Breakfast Networking, to add to its well-attended Business Leadership Lectures and introductory sessions;
  • Delivered more than 200 courses2(240+ days of training) to over 1500 delegates, with courses ranging from soft skills to technical training; and from management skills to cultural awareness – courses delivered at the request of members as well as a published calendar;
  • Set up a new graduate group for the growing community of graduates coming to work in Cambridge, together with new resources on the website for incoming employees;
  • Welcomed visitors from national and local governments; trade delegations, universities and technology scouts from around the world including Brazil, Hong Kong, Europe and the USA

"We've made good steps this year to offer more while keeping the quality very high, so our members are finding what good value we deliver by sharing and collaborating," says CEO Claire Ruskin.

"That is why we encourage feedback and seek to act on it – so that we continue to deliver the types of services our members want and need for their business and personal success. Members tend to get out of the Network what they are willing to put into it!  Don’t forget that all staff of a Cambridge Network member company are automatically members and can join in the collaboration.

"To that end, we ask for your ideas and encourage all members to complete our short survey to let us know how we can improve further, especially with regard to services, events, training and the website.  We already have new services in mind and you will see some additions in the new year."
