A very special Business in Action for Addenbrooke’s networking event, hosted by Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT), will take place at Marshall of Cambridge on Wednesday 7 September 2016 at 6pm-8.30pm, when innovation will be at the top of the agenda.
Business in Action for Addenbrooke’s is a collaborative community of business people acting in a meaningful way for Addenbrooke's and the Rosie hospitals. Members share a common goal: to support the continued development of the hospitals as centres of excellence, providing world-leading care, treatment and research for the benefit of them, their staff and the wider community.
This special networking event for members and non-members will start with a tour of the iconic Marshall facility, followed by presentations from Dr Thomas Stone, Head of R&D with Clinical Engineering at Addenbrooke’s and Christopher Walkinshaw, Group Corporate Communications Director at Marshall of Cambridge.
Dr Stone will showcase the motion capture laboratory co-funded by ACT and the Ministry of Defense, which is providing huge benefit to patients with traumatic brain injury, those suffering from a stroke and children with cerebral palsy.
Christopher Walkinshaw will share a behind the scenes insight into the story behind Marshall of Cambridge, which has thrived over its 107 years through innovative and entrepreneurial thinking.
Sandra Myers, Interim Chief Executive at ACT explains, “This year marks a very special time for Addenbrooke’s, as the hospital celebrate its 250th anniversary. Over the course of more than two centuries Addenbrooke’s has been at the heart of medical innovation and ACT is delighted to be in a position to enable that to continue. However, this is only possible as a result of support from the local business community – a community that very much leads the way in terms of global innovation.”
This not-to-be-missed event is free to members of Business in Action for Addenbrooke’s and just £25 each for non-members. Places must be booked in advance due to security measures in place at Marshall of Cambridge, so register today!
