It has chosen Mind in Cambridgeshire, the local charity for residents in the county, which provides a wide range of services to support those recovering from mental health challenges, promote positive mental health and tackle mental health-related stigma and discrimination within our communities.
Meet Cambridge is planning a Quiz Night in May to raise funds, as well as helping the charity to find venues for its own range of events over the coming year.
Leah Gibson, Event Executive at Meet Cambridge said: “We decided on Mind in Cambridgeshire as our dedicated charity for 2017 as support for mental health is currently high on the agenda. Everyone in our team is committed to helping the charity to deliver its services which are invaluable to so many people in our community.”
Aly Anderson, Interim CEO for Mind in Cambridgeshire added: “We are delighted that Meet Cambridge has chosen us as their charity of the year for 2017. Mental health problems affect around one in four of us each year – which equates to nearly 150,000 people across Cambridgeshire.
“Last year, we supported around 1,300 local people and are expecting the demand for our services to be even greater in 2016.”
