The surgery is being organised under the Better Business Finance Initiative backed by the British Bankers’ Association whose members are drawn from leading High Street banks.
It will take place at Cambridge’s St John’s Innovation Centre in Cowley Road between 1pm and 2.30pm when business people will be given the chance to talk about their businesses with Julian and one of the BBA's business mentors.
The surgery will include a question and answer session which is expected to centre around access to finance and business development issues. There will also be an opportunity for businesses to talk on a one-to-one basis with Julian and the BBA should they wish to do so.
Julian said: “Since the economic downturn, businesses have found it harder and harder to get the finance they need for their businesses. Banks have been reluctant to lend or have offered rates that are far too high for small businesses.
“This surgery offers the opportunity for small and medium businesses in Cambridge to talk about the issues affecting the day-to-day running of their companies and how they could benefit from a business mentor.
“Businesses must have access to funding if they are to survive and grow and their future success is crucial to our economic recovery.”
Anyone wishing to attend the surgery can find out more information by emailing Julian at: julian4cambridge@gmail.com
