The TEF is a Government-backed assessment of undergraduate teaching quality across all higher education institutions in England – including some in Scotland and Wales. The table features 134 higher education institutions and three alternative providers with university title.

The table saw Cambridge University achieving gold and Anglia Ruskin University taking a silver.

Daniel Zeichner said: "Our universities’ excellent performance in the TEF tells us what we already knew: Cambridge is a first-class destination for undergraduates across the board. I congratulate staff and students at both our universities for their hard work. They deserve a good summer holiday before keeping up the standard in the autumn!"
