New safe space for vulnerable women opens in Cambridge city centre

The Haven, a safe, overnight space for vulnerable women opens in Cambridge city centre.

It takes a City (Cambridge), working in partnership with the Women’s Homelessness Action Group were thrilled to celebrate the opening of The Haven last week, providing a safe, welcoming overnight drop-in space for vulnerable women in Cambridge city centre (open 2 nights a week). Women using The Haven will be able to get hot food and drinks, take a shower, use the laundry service, and relax.

The Haven will be staffed by an experienced, trauma-informed support worker and will provide partner agencies with opportunities to offer specialist services such as healthcare, support with mental health or substance abuse.   

We are also looking to provide requested support such as help with form filling and job applications as well as opportunities to relax with arts and crafts, pamper sessions and film nights.
