New series of workshops set to accelerate growth of SMEs in the East of England

St John’s Innovation Centre, the leading early stage incubator in Cambridge, is delighted to announce the launch of a series of workshops designed to support entrepreneurs and SMEs in the East of England.

Delivered by the Enterprise Europe Network and hosted by St John’s Innovation Centre, the series of small and interactive workshops will cover topics relevant to ambitious, growing businesses.

The series kicked off with ‘How to Make a Pitch to Win a Contract in the UK and Europe’ on Tuesday 15 September at St John’s Innovation Centre, where some thirty companies learnt how to prepare, present and win a contract.

The remaining sessions in the business-focused series of events are as follows:

  • Thursday 22 October: Accelerating Business Innovation with Innovate UK
  • Wednesday 25 November: Growing your Business Internationally? Forget about IP, Focus on Customer/User Insights
  • Tuesday 26 January: Let’s get real! – Exploring different Funding Options for your Early-stage Company

Penny Lord, Development Manger of the Enterprise Europe Network at St John’s Innovation Centre, said: “We are delighted to see the positive impact our work is having with enthusiastic and innovative SMEs. We support them in making the right connections including helping to raise finance, forming partnerships and developing trading opportunities across Europe.

The workshops on offer will continue to deliver this high level of support; helping ambitious businesses achieve their goals, acquire new and useful information and the opportunity to network with like minded entrepreneurs.”

The Enterprise Europe Network, described as the world’s biggest support network for SMEs, has been established to help businesses innovate, grow and succeed in the European marketplace through technology transfer or by finding new customers, suppliers or commercial partners.

“I encourage ambitious companies to make use of this opportunity and hone their skills in areas fundamental to scaling up a business. We are delighted to work with Enterprise Europe Network on events that will benefit businesses in the East of England,” comments Dr. Soraya Jones, Entrepreneur in Residence at St John’s Innovation Centre.

All events in the series are free to attend and will be held at St John’s Innovation Centre in Cambridge with onsite parking and access to public transport links.
