After some interesting questions from the audience, Richard commented that Cambridge Network is a jewel of Cambridge that even more people should know about.
Cambridge Network's CEO Claire Ruskin reports: "We saw members meeting new people to talk about opportunities - and we discussed the promotional thinking we are helping develop to get inward investment up to standard. We had general agreement that 'Think Cambridge, Thriving on ideas' should be attractive to outsiders and sounded business-friendly as well as idea-driven. Can anyone think of anything that works better? Suggestions welcome!
"This brings us to our new ‘WLTM’ (Would Like To Meet) web page that we hope will make business introductions that work," she continued.
"We have people asking us if we know of good Non-Exec Directors (NXDs), and different people asking us if we know businesses looking for NXDs. We hear offers of accounting hours and charities looking for pro-bono help. We may be a place where such offers can be spotted and matched, so we will launch a trial on this site very soon. Providing nothing lewd or confidential gets posted, we think Cambridge can only gain from this, and we promise we won’t fill your inboxes, it will be entirely voluntary..."
