In line with Cambridgeshire County Council’s schools admissions timescales, the University of Cambridge Primary School has launched its website with admissions information for interested parents.
The school will provide education for children aged four – 11. It will be a mixed-ability co-educational school. It will not have a specific religious character, nor a particular faith ethos. In addition to providing an inclusive and high-quality primary education for local children, the University of Cambridge Primary School will also offer unique training and research opportunities through its close relationship with the Faculties and Departments of the University of Cambridge. The trustees of UTS Cambridge, the trust which runs the University of Cambridge Primary School have appointed James Biddulph as the headteacher for the school.
As the first headteacher, James will play a key role in shaping the character and vision of the school. He is also looking forward to building strong relationships with the family of Cambridge schools, the Faculty of Education and the wider University.
James Biddulph, headteacher of the school said: “I look forward to learning from my new colleagues in Cambridgeshire and further afield, and to working together to build a research-informed pedagogy. Our new school’s vision statement is to 'Release the Imagination: celebrating the art of the possible.' I am grateful to the Trust for giving me the opportunity to make that statement a reality, not only for our young people, but for teachers, parents and academics here in Cambridge, in the UK, and beyond.”
Professor John Rallison, the University’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education and Chair of UTS Cambridge said: “It is a pleasure to welcome James to this exciting new role.
