Norwich-Cambridge Agri-tech Cluster launches this week

Agricultural technology or ‘Agri-tech’ is coming to the top of the agenda, as Lord Sainsbury launches the new Norwich-Cambridge Agri-tech Cluster in Cambridge this week.

NIAB’s Innovation Farm is hosting an event on Friday (October 11), at which the network will be formally launched to raise the game for the region in this very important area.  A considerable amount of funding has been provided to help accelerate the region's world-class work at the leading edge of the industry.

The initiative will bring together leading agriculture, research, science and technology assets in the East of England to strengthen a nationally significant, vibrant new cluster. It aims to bring a truly global reach and impetus to the emerging UK agri-tech sector.

Supported by a consortium of regional bodies including Norfolk County Council, Cambridgeshire County Council, New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership for Norfolk and Suffolk, Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Enterprise Partnership, the Centre for Contemporary Agriculture and the Food & Agriculture Board for the East of England, the event will feature keynote speeches from Lord Sainsbury and George Freeman, MP for Mid Norfolk.

Cambridge Network is helping the potential growth by recruiting a Director for the Agri-tech organisation.  So that the new cluster can take off as effectively as possible, Cambridge Network has offered to share the lessons it has learned over more than a decade of successful operation.

Applicants are invited for the role of Director of the Norwich-Cambridge Agri-tech Cluster. Read the full job description and apply on the Network's Recruitment Gateway.
