Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital is delighted to announce an exciting collaboration to support Cambridge RUFC and provide access to state-of-the-art facilities at its CQC ‘outstanding’ rated hospital.

“We are incredibly proud to be linking with such a prominent Cambridge club, which also retains the special role of community at its heart,” said Sophie Hudson, Sales and Services Manager at the premium private central Cambridge hospital.

Established in 1923 and now hailed as the leading club in the Eastern Counties region, Cambridge RUFC currently competes in National League 1, playing to 1,250 capacity crowds at Volac Park on its Grantchester Road ground in Newnham. The club performs nationally at a high level while locally providing a community base for more than 400 mini and youth players.

Director of Rugby Richie Williams said: “We are pleased to announce an exciting partnership with Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital. In our ongoing quest to improve off-field support to our players, this partnership will allow injured players to have access to additional medical care including imaging and scans.”

The progressive partnership will also see Nuffield Health on perimeter boards at Volac Park, featured in the club’s matchday programmes and across social media channels, together with plans to sponsor the team’s physiotherapy professionals.

Richie Williams states: “Player welfare continues to be a priority for us as a club, being a semi-professional player presents a number of challenges, including balancing a career off the pitch with playing national league rugby. This partnership will allow the players more flexibility to access a nationally recognised organisation to support them with injury diagnosis and treatment. Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital will work closely with our physio team as we look to increase our off-field support.”

Leading the directive, Club Chairman Rob Dean commented: “I am very pleased to have been able to form this partnership, particularly as it continues to grow our relationships with local business. Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital will bring a wide range of expertise that all our club members can benefit from. We look forward to working with Sophie and her top team.”
