As part of their global company initiative, NVIDIA Cambridge decided to execute ‘Project Inspire’ at their local hospital with the aim to revamp an unused outside area located between the Addenbrooke’s Treatment Centre and the Rosie Hospital. A group of 16 volunteers from the company got stuck in over two days and transformed it into a beautiful space for patients, visitors and staff to enjoy every day.
NVIDIA Cambridge staff have taken part in a number of fundraising activities raising vital funds for ACT already this year, including The Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon in March where seven employees raised sponsorship.
On the 12 September the company will battle it out against many other businesses in Cambridge as part of the Dragon Boat Festival, an event in support of ACT.
Chris Tunsley, NVIDIA Cambridge Site Leader , said: “The whole team from NVIDIA Cambridge found the experience very enjoyable and hugely rewarding. This gardening project will help in a small way to improve the experience for the many visitors to the Addenbrooke’s Hospital. We are pleased to have kicked off our NVIDIA Foundation Project Inspire activity with ACT and we look forward to further projects.”
Carla Brown, Corporate Fundraising Manager at ACT said, “It is always fantastic to welcome businesses to the hospital so they can see the direct impact their support provides to patients and staff. Employees from NVIDIA have been particularly committed with fundraising over recent months and I was delighted to welcome them to the site to offer this opportunity to challenge themselves away from their day jobs!”
