Party to celebrate 2012

Cambridge Network celebrated a successful first half year in 2012 with an event for Founder Members that brought together a good crowd.

Network directors including venture capitalist and entrepreneur Hermann Hauser of Amadeus, David Halstead of Deloitte, Bill Parsons of ARM, Hugh Parnell of NW Brown and Ken Wood of Microsoft Research gathered with Network Founder members and illustrious guests including Sir Michael Marshall, Dame Mary and Lord Jeffrey Archer, and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge - the Network's President - Prof Sir Leszek Borysiewicz, and his wife, Lady Borysiewicz.

Cambridge Network's CEO Claire Ruskin introduced Marcus Johnson, Chief Executive of NW Brown. Marcus spoke on the topic of the Euro and warned that he may have a more critical audience when he speaks in Greece about the Cambridge model next week – one of many stories going out around the world about how Cambridge continues to thrive. But the evening was mainly about networking over drinks and dinner, with atmospheric music from a jazz trio helping to divert attention from the rain outside.

Claire Ruskin commented: "We've had a year of growth, with increased peer group learning, recruitment support for over 200 members, a popular events programme and the new website increasing traffic for our members. We were delighted to see so many of our Founder members, representing growing businesses, the universities and the hospital, and it was a very enjoyable evening. We look forward to continuing to work closely with them all in the future."

Cambridge Network offers various invitation-only events for its Founders. If you are interested in becoming a Founder Member please get in touch with Claire via email claire.ruskin@cambridgenetwork.co.uk or call the office on 01223 300148.
