The most recent occupier to sign up is biotechnology company IONTAS, who have taken the last space at Iconix 2. The pioneering therapeutic antibody discovery business has taken 7,500 sq ft which provides refurbished lab and office facilities for the expanding business. IONTAS was founded in 2012 and was previously based on the nearby Babraham Research Campus.
John McCafferty, CEO at IONTAS, said: “Our move to Iconix Park marks a new chapter for our business as we look to build on the success of the last few years. This facility will help us expand our capabilities while maintaining our presence in the influential Cambridge science cluster.”
Colin Brown, development manager at Howard Group, said: “IONTAS is a fantastic addition to Iconix Park joining a line up of businesses that are driving the local economy in Cambridge. As a leader in their field and with some of Cambridge’s most successful scientists on board they will strengthen the biotech presence in Sawston and south Cambridge.
“With buildings 1 and 2 now fully occupied at Iconix Park, we are excited to be bringing the newly refurbished Iconix 3 building to the market. We are already in pre-let discussions with an occupier for the whole 13,500 sq ft building which could see the first 2 phases of Iconix Park fully let. After that, we are looking at the next phases of development on the site and are inviting pre-let interest”
Howard Group acquired Iconix Park in late 2013 which consists of buildings 1, 2 and 3 plus c 7 acres of development land. It is now an established Cambridge business location in the heart of the Cambridge Science and Technology Cluster. The Park represents an exciting opportunity to build on the existing bio-medical and laboratory presence both in Sawston and the other south Cambridge locations.
