“We are delighted to receive an invitation from Ian Tracey of Knowledge Transfer Network to be part of his own forthcoming presentation at Innovate 2016 National Investor Showcase Day in Manchester,” said Dan Hardingham, co-inventor of Joyner Bolt. “The workshop is entitled How to be Pitch-tastic and Joyner Bolt’s seven-minute pitch is being presented as a model for how to do it well!”
Joyner Bolt is one the 15 shortlisted finalists of Pitchfest 2016, a four-day intensive programme delivered by the Enterprise Europe Network in partnership with the Knowledge Transfer Network, providing early stage companies looking to scale with guidance and practice on how to structure and deliver a brief pitch to potential investors.
Twenty-seven ambitious companies from the east of England region participated in a highly focused pitch training held at St John’s Innovation Centre and presented their seven-minute pitches in front of a friendly panel of the EEN advisers and the KTN trainers who then had a tough decision to make and shortlist the final 15.
The culmination of the programme is the opportunity for the 15 finalists to present their pitches to UK’s leading investors and invited international entrepreneurs at the Investor Showcase Day on 8th November at St John’s Innovation Centre.
“Pitchfest was a great experience,” commented Dan Hardingham. “The overall mix of the group was really wide in terms of what the businesses were about, what stage of development they were at and how much investment they were looking for but everyone was equally passionate and committed to doing the best job they could. The teams from the Enterprise Europe Network and KTN were extremely supportive and we all learned so much.”
“We’ve seen some fantastic companies during Pitchfest, showing that there’s a strong entrepreneurial spirit and ecosystem in the east region,” said Kirsten Masson, the Enterprise Europe Network adviser based at St John’s Innovation Centre. “The East of England continues to provide great conditions for high-growth entrepreneurs with ambition to internationalise and scale, and events like this one definitely help to turn compelling ideas into commercial ventures.”
