Now a regular fixture in the Essex business calendar, the latest seminar was held at the Holiday Inn in Brentwood on Tuesday 14 November with the main topic of discussion focussing on the forthcoming introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The event was facilitated by Ben Farrow, Associate Director at professional recruitment specialists Pure, alongside Martin Hopkins, employment law partner at law firm Birkett Long.
Ben Farrow, Associate Director at Pure’s Chelmsford office said: “These seminars have been designed to provide practical workshops and updates on the current challenges faced by HR professionals. With less than a year until GDPR comes into effect it felt timely to use our latest event as an opportunity to discuss the key themes and implications for HR professionals. Our aim was to provide a simplified yet comprehensive update on how organisations will need to collect and process data about employees and job candidates to remain compliant with these new regulations. It also provided an excellent opportunity for HR professionals to come together and discuss challenges and best practices around GDPR with peers from a wide range of different organisations of different sizes and industry sectors.”
All those who attended also qualified for Continuous Professional Development (CPD) hours if they were working towards a professional management qualification.
