“To be a runner up and recognised on a national basis is a real honour and privilege," comments Lynn Walters, Director of Pure. “Although we are a regional recruitment consultancy firm in the East of England, our sterling reputation ensured that finance directors UK-wide nominated us alongside more well-known national names."
Lynn adds, “Although we may not have taken home the award this year, we are further inspired to continue developing the business to provide clients with excellence in service, including specialist regional knowledge of recruitment and bespoke guidance.”
The high calibre event saw Ian Griffiths, Chief Financial Officer at ITV, scoop the esteemed FTSE 100 FD of the Year award. Also, Rick Medlock, CFO of mobile satellite company Inmarsat won FTSE 250 FD of the Year, and Divinia Knowles, CFO and COO of Mind Candy (the online gaming company behind Moshi Monsters), took home the Inspirational FD of the Year award.
Created by Real Business and supported by the CBI, the FDs’ Excellence Awards recognise finance directors and service providers that support Britain's finance community using the results of an annual survey, in which 1,380 UK finance directors and financial decision-makers recorded their opinion.
Pure was judged, alongside other shortlisted companies, on criteria including business knowledge, innovation and quality of advice. Since Pure’s 2012 and 2013 award nominations, the firm continues to enhance its expertise and develop new and relevant initiatives such as auto-enrolment seminars, senior finance forums and gender diversity discussion groups, which add value for clients in industries including finance.
