Pure’s charity quiz in Ipswich raises over £2,000 for mental health charity Suffolk Mind

Professional recruitment specialists Pure hosted its annual Ipswich charity quiz night last week, bringing local businesses and clients together for a battle of the brains which raised over £2,000 for mental health charity Suffolk Mind.

The fun evening, which has become renowned for its playful rivalry between local organisations, saw 32 teams take part to pit their wits against each other. The teams included people from Haven Power, MLM and Suffolk Constabulary. The overall winners were a team from Pound Gates who were presented with champagne.

The event, held at the Novotel Hotel in Ipswich, also included a raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses including The Swan in Southwold, Adnams, Hintlesham Golf Club and Carters Sandwich Shop, to help raise further funds.

Paul Sheldrake, Manager at Pure’s Ipswich office, said: “Last year our quiz clashed with Storm Doris which meant several of our teams were not able to make it. We were very glad that the weather was much kinder to us this year! I’d like to thank everyone who attended, donated and contributed to the event. We are delighted to have been able to raise such a fantastic amount for this charity, and to have had Jon Neal, Chief Executive of Suffolk Mind, with us on the night to tell us more about how this money will be used to improve mental health in the local community.”

Suffolk Mind provides a range of services designed to help improve the mental health and wellbeing of people across the region including housing support, one-to-one interventions and community engagement.

The funds raised were secured through the entry fee for each team, with the full amount being donated to the charity, and through the raffle of prizes donated by local organisations. Pure is committed to its charity partners across the region. This includes £1,700 raised for Suffolk’s Lighthouse Women’s Aid at last year’s Ipswich quiz night.
