During the past year, LC delivered around 200 days of training - more than one every working day. And the list of courses is growing, including soft skills, technical and management training at all levels.
LC works on behalf of Cambridge Network members to organise, purchase and share training and management development opportunities. That means all members benefit from economies of scale, gaining improved access to high quality professional training courses at value-for-money prices.
Network membership means you automatically have the right to book on to any LC course at any time, while some categories of membership actually include LC training units.
Emma Stewart, LC's Head of Operations, points out: “We have a core group of employer companies for whom we provide precisely the courses they need. Their membership entitles them to a fixed number of what we call training units, which cost £150 each, as opposed to £225 per unit for non-Network members.
“But we also run general courses and, with very few exceptions, both types of courses are open to all Cambridge Network members at the lower rate, so companies and individuals can also book on to any course at any time. Depending on the subject matter and duration, courses typically cost one to three units, or £150 - £450.
“We’d like to encourage members to take advantage of the huge variety of courses we have on offer. In particular, if your employer is a member, find out from your HR department whether your company has training units available as part of its membership, and book on to some courses.”
Forthcoming LC courses include:
Communication & Excellence in Business - 24th & 25th October
Train the Trainer - 12th November
Writing Skills for PR - 20th November
Effective Writing Skills for Business - 21st November
Coaching: An Introductory Workshop - 22nd November
ISEB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing - 26th – 28th November
Transition to Management - 29th – 30th November
Alongside formal training, LC operates a series of peer learning groups. These invitation-only knowledge sharing groups bring together small groups of people from across the membership who hold similar job roles in areas such as HR, Marketing, Technology & Innovation, and IT. Within these trusted groups, individuals can share experiences and challenges in an environment facilitated and organised by Cambridge Network. Attendance at some of the groups is included as part of membership, with others (such as the Cambridge Leaders Academy) funded by a separate fee.
