Danielle Chetwynd and Jeremy Hyde have joined the team as Senior Associates in the Corporate team from Freeths and Wright Hassall LLP, respectively.
Howes Percival’s CCB practice advises clients on significant and transformational acquisitions and disposals and the full range of contractual matters. It also provides a dedicated banking and finance service to banks, financial institutions, funds, and other lenders. In recent years, the firm has invested heavily in the team, across all its offices, with several senior, high-profile hires.
The team recently reported an ‘incredibly busy’ start to 2021, completing 32 deals in the first quarter, with a combined value of £263 million. Working remotely with minimal disruption during the pandemic, the CCB team is continuing to advise on a strong pipeline of M & A, financing and restructuring transactions.
Jahid Ali, Corporate partner in the Leicester office commented,
“We have invested in our corporate, commercial and banking team and, as a result, both our national and our Leicester practices have grown considerably in the last few years. We’ve seen a significant increase in the number, quality and size of deals we are asked to advise on, and our ambition is to continue to further develop our CCB offering and client base.
“The last 12 months have been very busy indeed with a lot of sellers coming to the market, for a range reasons, including those looking to de-risk. There is also a lot of money available to support deals. The team has performed incredibly well during the pandemic and we are feeling very positive about the rest of this year and beyond. We are certainly looking to carry on growing and I am delighted to welcome Danielle and Jeremy to Howes Percival.”
