This prestigious award, first received in 2015, is the hard earned result of a demanding assessment process, which placed the academic institution under a microscopic lens to ascertain what makes Robinson College of outstanding quality, professionalism and credibility, and why it should top any event organisers’ preferred venue list.
The assessment was comprehensive, taking into account: business planning, service delivery, considering customers’ needs, and continuous improvement, amongst many other criteria. In particular, the assessors singled out the College’s commitment to sustainability and environmental activities, from facilitating access to drinking water via newly installed water points, to introducing a bottling system to reduce bottled water sales; the staff commitment to delivering exceptional customer service; additionally, the commitment to developing the facility by investing a significant part of its revenue in capital expenditure was noted.
Alexis Moreau, conference and catering manager at Robinson College, said: “I am very proud to be able to say that we have achieved gold once again. This renewed accreditation acknowledges our commitment to developing our facilities to ensure that we are always up to date with the needs of residents, stakeholders and clients. Ultimately though, this achievement is the result of great teamwork, and I would like to thank all the staff across the College who dedicate themselves to building Robinson’s reputation as one of Cambridge’s most versatile and forward-thinking academic destinations.”
Kay England, chair of the MIA Council added: “This is a fantastic achievement for Robinson College, which has proved it thoroughly deserves to hold its place on the list of AIM gold venues.”
