“She’s amazing,” Catherine said, “Nothing’s too much trouble for her. Like all new parents, for our first baby we didn’t know what to expect, but Anita took us step-by-step all the way through. It really was a blessing for her to be there and we are so incredibly lucky and grateful that she’s delivered all of our children.”
Daniel continued: “It’s a wonderful yet terrifying experience. As a dad nothing is in your control, but each time I saw it was Anita who was going to be delivering our baby, I thought ‘thank God’”. She’s a one off, they don’t make many like that.”
Catherine, from Great Gransden in Huntingdonshire, was herself one of the first babies born in The Rosie and wouldn’t go anywhere else. She said: “It pulls you back, we never questioned going anywhere else. Anita and the whole team are incredible and always greet you with a smile, no matter what pressures they are under. As a mother you trust your midwife with yours and your baby’s life and there is nothing more important than that. I couldn’t have felt safer – I trust Anita completely and have absolute faith in her and the team.”
Anita said: “The odds of delivering four babies for the same couple are very slim. I can’t describe how special it is to help bring a baby into the world or how much I love my job. The day I get bored is the day I get out. Technically I’ve retired but I’m still working full time because I enjoy it so much.”
Daniel added: “It’s amazing to watch her work, you can tell it’s more than just a job to her. She always seems to be one step ahead and is a master class of efficiency and bedside manner rolled into one person. It’s hard to explain how important it is to have a good midwife, but you know you’re always going to get the best care at The Rosie.”
Albie was born last Monday (5 October), and the Fox’s other sons are called Remy (3), Fraser (6), and Corey (11).

Rosie midwife delivers couple’s four babies

The arrival of Catherine and Daniel Fox’s fourth baby, Albie, was made even more special by having Anita Walsh deliver their baby. The Rosie midwife has delivered all four of the Fox’s sons over the past 11 years and the couple said they couldn’t have asked for anything better.
