Scott Guthrie (Microsoft) to speak on Azure cloud platform

Microsoft corporate vice president Scott Guthrie will visit Cambridge to give a talk on the software giant's Azure platform.

In a coup for Cambridge, senior Microsoft staffer Scott Guthrie (@scottgu) will visit the city  on Thursday, 21 June to give a talk on the software giant's Azure Cloud computing platform.

Learn about Windows Azure - Microsoft’s cloud computing platform. In this demo-heavy talk, Scott will walkthrough how you can start to take advantage of Windows Azure and build great applications with it.

The event is being organised by Software East - bringing the best software speakers to the Eastern region - with assistance from Red Gate Software.

About Scott Guthrie

Scott Guthrie (@scottgu) is a corporate vice president in Microsoft's Server and Tools Business division, where he is responsible for delivering the development platform for Windows Azure, as well as the .NET Framework and Visual Studio technologies used in building Web and server applications.

A founding member of the .NET project, Scott has played a key role in the Microsoft developer space since 1997. Today, Scott manages the development teams that build the developer platform for Windows Azure as well as the development teams that build IIS, ASP.NET, WCF, WF, EF, BizTalk and the Web, and Web Service and Workflow features of Visual Studio.

The talk will take place at the Mumford Theatre, Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge.
