Searching for a safe space - can you help?

It Takes A City is looking for a partner to provide safe, secure storage for those experiencing homelessness in Cambridge.

“Having lost everything, not losing my things kept me alive. Without you I would be dead!” TJ, now housed.

Street Storage is a charity providing safe, secure storage for the possessions of people experiencing homelessness in London, currently in two locations, with another in development. Street Storage is keen to support similar facilities outside London.

It Takes A City believes this would be a welcome addition to Cambridge, allowing rough sleepers and those who are vulnerably housed to store their possessions, safe from theft, damage or destruction.

We are looking to partner with an organisation, charity, faith group or business in Cambridge who have premises with a lockable space that could be used to locate this project.

Ideally, the location should be within two miles of the city centre.

Please contact us if you can help with premises or would like to find out more about how we see the Street Storage model working in Cambridge.

An innovative idea and a simple, high human-impact solution”. Richard George, Head of Consultancy at Connect Assist
